Previously, customers would order a grilled cheese and add a burger patty to create the sandwich themselves, but the new menu item is more affordable than the DIY version. Some have pointed out that while it doesn’t fully match the traditional patty melt (lacking rye bread and Swiss cheese), it's still a tasty addition to the Five Guys lineup.
